On the road to LA - Missions - Step in Santa Barbara!

Before leaving San Luis Obispo, I visited the Mission San Luis Obispo. I really liked it and I discovered another side of the history of California. Missions.

 I took the road Higway 1 to Santa Barbara and I stopped in another mission. La Purissima Mission ! Amazing !!

 I took the road to Santa Barbara .

  I arrived in Santa Barbara with the sun and a pleasant heat!

 

 The hotel is very nice. Tonight, Californian wine tasting by the pool! I met people again there that I met at the hotel in Monterey, 2 days ago. We tasted the wine together. Great Californian wine!  

I told them: "Maybe tomorrow in Los Angeles!"

 I love California. I feel really good! I love driving on California roads!

 I know I 'll come back here! I have to do the road of missions and the road of Californians wines.  
Who's with me!  
I think my brother would gladly do these two roads with me! With my brother and my sister ! 
What a dream !!!

On the road to LA - Highway 1 - Step in San Luis Obispo

I continued my journey today on Highway 1, between Monterey and San Luis Obispo. Beautiful road! 
It's a little long because there's work and because we can't drive very fast. But I'm on vacation and I visit. So it was perfect! I stopped very often!

 

 

 I met many residents of Highway 1.

 When I arrived at my hotel in San Luis Obispo and I saw the pool at my window, I didn't hesitate.

On the road to LA - Step in Monterey!

I left San Francisco this morning with a rental car. Fortunately, the person who gave me the keys said to me, it was a small car and that if I wanted a bigger it was possible. I said that the small car would be fine. 

Here is the small  car ?!!

Monterey is a small city very nice, very quiet. Walking through the city, we can feel the Spanish and Mexican colonial years.

 Tomorrow I 'll drive on the Highway 1, which runs along the coast, to San Luis Obispo, next city step!

September 11th, 2001 - Never forget !

San Francisco 3rd and last day!!

For this last day in San Francisco , I went at first to Alamo Square. This public garden is surrounded with the most beautiful houses of San Francisco.

 

 It 's a very pleasant place, even for our friends dogs!!

 

And I went to Haight-Ashbury district. The corner of Haight and Ashbury streets still has its tie-dyed roots; vintage clothing, books and records are abundant here and along lower Haight Street.

 

 

And finally, for my French readers, I found "La Maison Bleue" (The Blue House") of Maxime Le Forestier. This house inspired the singer-songwriter in 1972  for a song that became a legendary French Song.

Very interesting story about this house turned green, then blue again!

Bye Bye San Francisco !!!  This City is really amazing!

Tomorrow I go to Monterey with a rental car which I 'll drop off at Los Angeles Airport on September 17.

San Francisco - 2nd day

With jetlag, I woke up very early. 

I took my breakfast ... Here!!

I don't know if they serve the best, but it was very good! An american breakfast !!

 I walked a lot in North Beach, Telegraph Hill and Chinatown.

And I took another breakfast (small ) in the Caffe Trieste, Caffe of Little Italy with a real Espresso!! I like very much Espresso.The american coffee isn't good!!

 According to the legend, Françis Ford Coppola would have written the scenario of the Godfather in this café in 1972. In any case, the atmosphere is very present!

And in the afternoon, I took a bus to visit San Francisco. I could find interesting shops, for tomorrow! :-)

And the famous Golden Gate Bridge !!

After 11 hours of flight, 4.5 movies, I 'm in San Francisco. San Francisco with sun and blue sky !!

I'm late !!

It's midnight in France. I have a flight tomorrow at 10:30 at Roissy Charles de Gaulle. And my suitcase is not over. It's the holidays!

 I still wish the birthday of Gustav on my sites! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUSTAV !! Gustav is my favorite drummer !! The best one!!
